For his departed glory.<br />

Gentle harp ! thy melody<br />

Sounds like Hope's soft voice to me,<br />

When the clouds of darkness roll<br />

O'er my woe-benighted soul.<br />

When I touch thy golden string,<br />

Thou of other years dost sing,<br />

And radiant visions round me throng<br />
