Replacing the outdated bus facilities from within the existing
Bridge Street car park to a new purpose built interchange in the
Minstergate / St Nicholas Street area will not be detrimental to
people with disabilities. In fact the new interchange and the
highway improvement works associated with it will significantly
improve access to and the experience of using public transport
for people with disabilities. The County Council, who are building
the new interchange, are committed to ensuring that
accessibility for disabled people is considered as part of all
transport improvement works to ensure adequate facilities are
provided. While full details of the new interchange will be
available when the County Council submit their proposals for
planning consent, it is understood that the design of the new
facility takes into account the needs of those with disabilities,
