As <strong>of</strong> June 2000, a 16,000 square foot aviation hangar and a 377,720 square foot aircraft parking apron was completed. In 1998, the State Legislature changed the name <strong>of</strong> the<br />
airport to the Charlotte County Airport Authority. The Charlotte County Airport Authority is working with the <strong>Southwest</strong> Florida Water Management District to develop an airport-wide<br />
environmental resource permit (ERP).<br />
Recent Modifications In 1996, the original DRI was completed. A working relationship, facilitated by a verbal agreement, continues between the Airport Authority and the <strong>Southwest</strong> Florida Regional<br />
Planning Council.<br />
