On March 23, 1998, the DRI development order was officially abandoned. No construction has occurred at the time of abandonment. However, the abandonment order allows
construction of a 100-room hotel and the remainder of the property (878 acres) would be sold to the State of Florida for Conservation and Preservation of land.
On December 26, 1997, the developer filed a DRI abandonment application, with the intention of constructing a non-DRI hotel development. The DRI was abandoned on March 23,
1998.
