Graupner New Items 2008

We have gathered experience and
feedback from many pilots who have
used the mc-24 PROFI, with the result
that many new ideas have been incorporated
into the overall software design
of the mx-24s. The mc-24 system has
been highly successful all over the
world, and this pioneering development
in high-end radio control system software
has been made possible by countless
hours of teamwork involving the
GRAUPNER software team, professional
and contest pilots specialising in a
vast range of different model types, and
renowned world-ranking pilots, all of
whom have tested the system in national
and international competitions and
events of all disciplines, without overlooking
the requirements of the beginner.
Compared with the new version first
shown in 2007, the system’s operating
convenience has been further improved.
For example, the following facilities
are now provided for controlling the
numerous functions of the mx-24s:
Transmitter controls and switches:
The mx-24s is fully kitted out for controlling
up to twelve servos, so that
even scale enthusiasts and model boat
fans will find all the controls they need.
New communication modes
● PPM10 for Pico receivers used in
indoor models, fun-flyers, small helicopters,
model cars and similar, i.e.
models which are controlled using no
more than five servos. The reduced
cycle time produces extremely fast
response to control commands.
● APCM24 for the demanding pilot
who wishes to operate models equipped
with up to twelve servos, and who
places stringent demands on the accurate
synchronisation of all servos - e.g.
for high-speed models.
New RF SYNTHESIZER module:
Eliminates crystal swapping in the 35 /
35 MHz B-band and the 40 / 41 MHz
band. The desired channel is set in the
software, and is confirmed by a security
query.
Integral dual-conversion scanner:
Another new safety feature is an
automatic check of radio channel
assignments at the flying site; the mx-
24S checks this every time you switch
it on.
Backlighting:
For the generously dimensioned LCD
graphic screen. This improves legibility
considerably, especially in poor lighting
conditions.
Model memory recognition:
The model memory number is transmitted
once to the amc-24DSCAN receiver,
which stores the information. Thereafter
the receiver will only respond to this
model memory, thereby eliminating the
possibility of launching a model with the
wrong memory accidentally set at the
transmitter - a not insignificant safety
aspect which applies equally to all
areas of RC modelling.
Swashplate limiting:
This function limits the angle of inclination
of the swashplate, and prevents it
striking other mechanical parts when
full roll and pitch-axis commands are
given during 3-D helicopter flying.
Auto-Trim function:
This function provides a means of storing
the current stick positions with a
single button-press when a fixed-wing
model or helicopter is being trimmed:
the pilot uses the sticks to set the
model “straight and level”, operates the
switch, and then releases the sticks
again. The correction is then “blended
in” when the pilot lets go of the sticks.
Ch1 switch: airbrake / electric motor:
Expanded flight phase programming
makes it child’s play to set up this
method of switching: the pilot decides
the stick positions (forward / back) at
which the motor is switched off and the
airbrakes are retracted.

The transmitter checks whether the desired channel is already in use - directly after it is switched on.
The entire frequency band can be checked for occupied channels by pressing a button.
