Coal Handling Plant for the Vindhyachal<br />
STPP Phase III (2 x 500 MW)<br />
L&T’s association with NTPC Limited dates back to ( 2 x 500 MW ), for a value of Rs. 1120 million, in an<br />
1983, when L&T executed the Coal Handling ICB Tender. VSTPP was already having an installed<br />
Plant (CHP) for the Singrauli Super Thermal Power capacity of 2260 MW (Stage I : 6 units @ 210 MW +<br />
Station. Over the last 25 years L&T has executed 57 Stage II : 2 units @ 500 MW ) and with the addition of<br />
Coal Handling Plants, for a total order value of Rs. 1000 MW in Stage III, it is poised to become the<br />
41086 million. single largest power generating station of NTPC in<br />
L&T enjoys the distinction of being one of the most<br />
valued contractors of NTPC, because of its<br />
commitment towards timely delivery of the Projects,<br />
with highest quality. The Coal Handling Plant for<br />
NTPC Simhadri Thermal Power Station, executed by<br />
L&T, is considered to be a model CHP by NTPC and is<br />
referred in many of their journals and forums. L&T<br />
bagged the biggest order for a CHP from NTPC in the<br />
year 2004, when it got the award for the Coal<br />
Handling Plant for the Vindhyachal STPP Phase III<br />
India.<br />
