BUSINESS&EXHIBITIONS
2010: Years of Presenting Business
Despite the fact that the last years were financially hard, state’s businessmen, using the possibility to try out
success factors, have not rejected the participating in exhibitions. Contrary, exhibitions became such a place,
where meet reliable business partners, main competitors, potential clients and where there are presented market
news.
Organizers of exhibitions forecast that time tested
organizations will newly present themselves and remind
about them this year. Businessmen, participating in
exhibitions not for the first years, rush to get more visible
areas and without delays order non standard stands. (arba
šitą) Meanwhile those, who want
to introduce their products or
services for the first time, prepare
for this event as for the most
important step, entering resurgent
market. Business’ advisers of
“Ekspozicijų centras”, who
supplies exhibitions organizing
services for already 16 years,
recognize such tendencies.
Not a luxury, but a
Necessity
According to Erikas
Piskunovas, general manager of
the company, hard times had an
appropriate effect on exhibitions
business as well. “Although we
had also to adjust, reacting to
our clients, but reduced financial
resources of our participants
increased our possibilities.
Companies reduced their
budgets for participating in the
exhibitions three times, though
we raised an aim – to do as it was or even better. And we
are succeeding, because our partners, from who we get
materials for making stands or order publicity services,
reduced their prices accordingly”, - lays E. Piskunovas.
“In my opinion, those, who would sustain the hard
times and survive, will skim the sweetest cream off
during the recovering of economy. There are established
more and more new companies and they are not known
in the market yet. The exhibitions are becoming a perfect
chance to present oneself to the future client and potential
competitor.”
exhibitioN is also a work
Exhibitions’ organizers are happy that during the last
two years of usage fall in the country, the amount of
exhibitions’ visitors remained increasing and the amount
of participants have changed narrowly.
“It is not enough to order exhibition’s stand”, - says
Piskunovas. According to him, participants’ work in
exhibitions conditions a lot, so those, who participate for
the first time, make a lot of mistakes
and become disappointed. “An
exhibition is not a place, where
visitors come to look at the items
as a showpiece. Nowadays user is
searching – where to buy an item
more qualitative, rationally and
better. So if the item in the shop is
waiting for the client in the self, in the
exhibition – it is inviting. The biggest
mistake of the new participants is
that they are passively waiting for
the clients, while the old participants
lure them away.”, - marks the talker.
Asta Kazickienė, the director of
bedroom salon “Andėja”, participates
in the exhibition “Home world” not
for the first year, and emphasizes
that the success of participating
in the exhibition depends on the
consultants, who help to “orient in
the new space”.
For staNds – special
atteNtioN
Lithuania’s businessmen have a wrong opinion that to
equip “expensive” stand is loss-maiking and it does not
buys off. According to Evaldas Januškevičius, exhibitions
equipping manager of “Ekspozicijų centras”, it is very
similar to situation, which our ancestor have already knew
– as in old Lithuanian folk proverb – “meets by cloth,
sees off by intellect”. Visitors, competitors and business
partners, who came to the exhibition, firstly evaluate the
“cloth” of the participant – that is, his stand, and only then
business intercourses are contracted, possible market is
discussed. This is the work of a team.
You must get everything possible from the stand’s
partner – do not be afraid to ask him for advices,
recommendations due to the stand’s place, size and ideas.
After all, they are the professionals, who are “boiling” in
the exhibitions.
