The time after Pentecost comprises that part of the<br />

liturgical year EXTENDING FROM THE FIRST SUNDAY<br />

AFTER PENTECOST to THE FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT.<br />

As we have already remarked, this time corresponds<br />

to the AUTUMN SEASON. The Church, the great reaper<br />

of souls, in her work of santification which she accom<br />

plishes by the aid of the Holy Ghost during this time,<br />

gathers the harvest which has ripened in the preceding<br />

season, that is to say during Lent and Eastertide. This<br />

last season of the liturgical year represents the matured<br />

work of the Holy Ghost ; both IN THE WHOLE
