1. Uninstall Tivoli Netcool Performance Flow Analyzer 4.1.0 in accordance with the
corresponding installation guide.
Note: If you are prompted to delete the files by the uninstall script, select no.
2. Install Tivoli Netcool Performance Flow Analyzer 4.1.1 by following the instruction in section
3.1.1.
The INSTALL script referenced in section 3.1.1 reports that there exist users and a configuration from
the previous Tivoli Netcool Performance Flow Analyzer 4.1.0 installation. You are advised to perform
/INSTALL copyold command to copy the old data into the new installation. Depending on the user
inputs, the copyold command performs the following actions:
1. Copy an updated form of the user definition files into the 4.1.1-specific location.
2. Delete the obsolete 4.1.0 user definition files.
3. Copy the site definition and data files from the 4.1.0 location to the corresponding 4.1.1
location
4. Delete the obsolete 4.1.0 configuration and data.
Note: You must clear the browser cache for any client machine that has previously accessed the 4.1.0
GUI. For more information, consult your browser documentation.
3.1.3 Creating an administrator account
After you install the system, you must create an administrator account:
# tnpfa addroot
User ID: admin
User ’admin’ successfully created in file ’users/admin’
The password for this account is ’************
Record the administrator password that is provided. When Tivoli Netcool Performance Flow Analyzer
is upgraded or reinstalled, a previous administrator account may exists. You can also generate new
administrator accounts.
To delete an administrator account:
1. Stop Tivoli Netcool Performance Flow Analyzer.
2. To delete the account, use the deluser command as follows:
# tnpfa deluser admin
3.1.4 Starting and stopping the system
Starting and stopping the Tivoli Netcool Performance Flow Analyzer requires root administration
rights. Run the following commands as the root user or the tnpfa user.
