NSDC <strong>Skill</strong> Gap Study of the North East - Nagaland<br />
As of August 2010, Nagaland had 62 telephone exchanges and 45,582 wire line connections. The service<br />
is provided through the Northeast-II circle of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). As of August<br />
2010, BSNL had 250,364 total mobile phone connections in the State.<br />
Broadband service is provided by Sify, BSNL, Reliance, Tata Indicom and Airtel. As of August 2010,<br />
there were 4,788 connections of BSNL. The Department of Telecom is implementing the scheme for<br />
augmentation, creation and management of infra-district SDHQ-DHQ OFC (Sub-division headquarter-<br />
district headquarter-optical fibre cable) network in the state. There are also 328 post offices in the State<br />
apart from private parcel and postal services.<br />
