NSDC <strong>Skill</strong> Gap Study of the North East - Nagaland<br />

The above framework has been used to identify potential sectors where economic activities will create<br />

employment between 2011 and 2021.The growth engines for a State‟s economy are driven by the factor<br />

advantages within the State, market conditions, industry value chain available and Government policy<br />

support. These factors lead to growth in economic output which in turn determines the annual incremental<br />

employment opportunities within the State.<br />

5.3 Identified sectors for livelihood opportunities and domestic demand<br />

Based on the framework mentioned above, sectors have been identified for skilling and upgrading skills.<br />

These sectors are expected to provide employment opportunities in the coming 10 years. Sectors for<br />

domestic demand have been identified based on factor endowments, policy thrust, market potential,<br />

historical presence, availability of trained manpower, availability and quality of training centre, time<br />

taken to train and employment opportunities.<br />
