Agriculture<br />
(Cultivation)<br />
Terrace and jhum cultivation are widely<br />
practiced by the tribal communities of<br />
Nagaland. Rice is the key crop grown.<br />
Fishery In 2008-09, Nagaland produced 6,175 MT<br />
of fish. Fish production has increased at a<br />
CAGR of four per cent between 2005 and<br />
2008.<br />
Animal<br />
Husbandry<br />
Animal husbandry is the main occupation<br />
for many people in the State.<br />
Nagaland is one of the highest importers of<br />
pig in the country for both meat and<br />
breeding purposes. As per the 2007<br />
livestock Census, the State had 697,793<br />
pigs.<br />
Apiculture Forest and climate provide ideal climate for<br />
bee keeping make it ideal.<br />
