Climate Support Collaboration with Bureau of Reclamation: In response to the five-year 1999-2004<br />
drought, Reclamation began an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in 2005 to determine how to operate<br />
Lakes Mead <strong>and</strong> Powell in a coordinated fashion, <strong>and</strong> to establish objective criteria for declaring <strong>and</strong><br />
implementing shortages on the Colorado River. WWA sponsored a large kick-off meeting with<br />

Integration of WWA Activities with the ―Climate <strong>and</strong> Management of the Colorado River‖ project, funded<br />
separately by NOAA under the Human Dimensions (SARP or ―Sectors‖) initiative. This project entails a<br />
variety of interactions between WWA personnel <strong>and</strong> Colorado River stakeholder at relevant meetings (e.g.,<br />
the annual meeting of the Colorado River Water Users Association). Collaboration resulted in five<br />
presentations throughout the year.<br />

MILESTONE WWA04.1:<br />
General Management Activities. Hold biweekly team meetings. Prepare Annual budget. Interact<br />
with RISA Program managers. Interact with CIRES <strong>and</strong> NOAA administrative staff. Establish<br />
strategic activities.<br />
