GOAL:<br />
Provide useful information that will help improve the relationship between societal needs <strong>and</strong> science <strong>and</strong><br />
technology policies.<br />
MILESTONE Policy03.1:<br />
Continue to improve content of newsletter to make it of greater interest to the science <strong>and</strong><br />
technology policy community <strong>and</strong> decision makers. Increase the number of subscribers <strong>and</strong><br />
distribute the newsletter more widely. Add a bimonthly science-policy briefing email that is sent to<br />
hundreds of science policy decision makers in Washington, D.C. <strong>and</strong> elsewhere, highlighting<br />
Center activities. Continue to exp<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> upgrade this effort in the 2006-2007 time period.<br />
ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR Policy03.1:<br />
Policy Center personnel continue to strive to make the quarterly newsletter of interest to the science <strong>and</strong> technology<br />
policy community by soliciting contributions from experts in the field on highly topical subjects. They have<br />
increased the subscription rate by 8% since last year. The science-policy briefing mailing list has grown from more<br />
than 2,000 to almost 3,500 science-policy decision makers around the world, <strong>and</strong> the center continues to receive<br />
positive feedback about the briefing.<br />
