Starting the Field Interpolator<br />

The Field Interpolator runs independently from PMWIN. To start the program, select Field<br />

Interpolator from the Tools menu <strong>of</strong> PMWIN or use the Start button on the task bar in<br />

Windows. The available settings <strong>of</strong> the Field Interpolator (Fig. 5.1) are grouped under three<br />

tabs - Files, Grid Position and Search/Gridding Method. These tabs are described below.<br />

- Files:<br />

- PMWIN Model: If you have already opened a model within PMWIN and started the<br />

Field Interpolator from the Tools menu, this field contains the model file name. If<br />

"Open a model first" is shown, you must click and select an PMWIN-model from<br />

a standard Open File dialog box. A PMWIN-model file always has the extension .PM5.<br />

- Input File: An input file contains the measurement data and can be prepared with the<br />

Digitizer or other s<strong>of</strong>tware. Click to select an existing input file. An input file must<br />

be saved in ASCII and have the following format:<br />

N first line <strong>of</strong> the file; N is the number <strong>of</strong> data points;<br />

X , Y , Z second line <strong>of</strong> the file<br />

X , Y , Z third line <strong>of</strong> the file<br />
