212 Processing <strong>Modflow</strong><br />

There are eight main steps in this tutorial:<br />

1. Create a new model,<br />

2. Define model size,<br />

3. Refine model grid,<br />

4. Assign model data,<br />

5. Perform steady-state flow simulation,<br />

6. Extract and view results from the steady-state simulation,<br />

7. Produce output from the steady-state simulation, and<br />

8. Transient flow simulation.<br />

This tutorial will lead you through the steps required to construct a working groundwater model<br />

<strong>of</strong> the area being studied and to then use the model to assess the effects <strong>of</strong> changing some<br />

parameters on the modelled results. Instructions are given for each step <strong>of</strong> the process in the<br />

following manner:<br />

- Select items from the menu: in BOLD<br />

- A series <strong>of</strong> commands: linked by <<br />

for example to open a new model the steps are File < New Model …<br />
