2 STRATEGIC CONTEXT OF ATHY 2.1 Introduction The IFPLUT Study is set in the context of national, regional and county development strategies, which provide the overriding principles for the Study and create the framework for the assessment of the Study Area. The context of the IFPLUT is shown in Figure 2.1 and the consultants carried out a review of these strategy documents prior to developing the Guiding Principles and Specific Policies for the Athy area.
