Exposure to high levels of sulfur compounds can result in a variety of respiratory and other bodily injury issues. 4. Just because sulfur exposure is present does not mean the sulfur caused the injury. Need to examine preexisting conditions and balance cost to produce evidence vs. potential recovery 5. MORE RESEARCH IS NEEDED AND IS BEING DONE BY VARIOUS AGENCIES INCLUDING FLA DOH. 9 10

Air sampling plan for field investigations is being developed by EPA/CPSC and will be ready in July. 2. Do you need to test? Carefully evaluate pros/cons 3. Determine what information you want to obtain when considering type of testing to perform 4. Due to low detection limits, some types of sampling will likely NEVER pick up any sulfur compounds 5. Factor in costs- most testing is expensive 6. Beware of lab qualifications as much of the accuracy of this testing is dependent upon lab technician qualifications 11 12
