the clock hours needed to graduate.<br />

<strong>Merrell</strong> <strong>University</strong> does not recruit students already attending or admitted to other schools<br />

that offer a similar program of study.<br />

Transfer “OUT” Students: <strong>Merrell</strong> <strong>University</strong> will be provided with a transcript of grades and<br />

progress report to another school upon written request by the student, provided all financial<br />

obligations due the <strong>University</strong> have been satisfied. The <strong>University</strong> will furnish one transcript<br />

without charge to the student. Additional transcripts are $5.00 dollars each.<br />

STUDENT CONDUCT<br />

<strong>Merrell</strong> <strong>University</strong> of Beauty Arts & Science is a post-secondary institution of learning with a<br />

minimum age enrollment of 17 years. The student body is an adult group. Both the<br />

administration and faculty respect each student as an adult enrolled to learn professional skills in<br />

the field of cosmetology in order to improve their earning ability and provide a better quality of<br />

life.<br />

Students are expected to cooperate with school officials and function as responsible citizens.<br />

Failure to obey school rules is cause for disciplinary sanctions. Such sanctions may be<br />

probation, suspension, or possible termination. Dishonesty, insubordination, possession or uses<br />

of non-prescribed controlled drugs, cheating, or assisting another to cheat are student violations<br />

prompting termination.<br />

Any student failing to conduct himself/herself as a responsible individual will be required to<br />

receive counseling from school officials to determine whether he/she will be suspended,<br />

terminated, or allowed to continue in school under agreed probationary conditions. Any student<br />

violating a probationary agreement will be terminated.<br />

A copy of the school rules and regulations is given to each student upon commencement of<br />

training.<br />

STUDENT DRESS CODE<br />

All students are required to wear professional dress attire and <strong>Merrell</strong> <strong>University</strong> aprons. The<br />

following are prohibited: jeans, sleeveless shirts, shorts, denim, sweat pants, and leggings.<br />

Students must wear socks or nylons at all times.<br />

Professional use of makeup is required of the female students at all times, both in class and in the<br />

clinical laboratory. The <strong>University</strong> is a cosmetology school and great emphasis is placed on<br />

personal appearance, this includes dress, makeup, hair care, and personal hygiene.<br />
