Course Description:
Instructor Training is a course of study and educational discipline to prepare a licensed
cosmetologist to become a qualified instructor in a licensed school of cosmetology.
Course Objectives:
Upon the completion of this course the student will have acquired the ability to pass the State
Board of Cosmetology examination, become a licensed instructor, and have the capability to:
1. Supervise the clinic floor;
2. Construct lesson plans;
3. Teach different subjects in the professional field; and
4. Manage a cosmetology school.
Instructional Methods:
Instructor trainees observe, plan, prepare, present and evaluate. Effective teaching skills are
gained through working with licensed instructors and counseling sessions.

Introduction to Teaching 25 clock hours
Analysis of Teaching . 50 clock hours
Program Development 50 clock hours
The Basic Class 50 clock hours
Cosmetology Theory 150 clock hours
Pre-Clinic Orientation 25 clock hours
