TUITION AND FEES Tuition and fees for the complete 600-clock hour Instructor Training course is 1,340. A registration fee of $150 is due at the time of signing the enrollment agreement with the balance being paid in one of the following manners: 1. Cash payment in full at commencement of class; or 2. Tuition paid through the University’s financial program requires a registration fee of $150 with payment of $268 due on the first day of instruction, and $268 payable the first Wednesday of each month for the next four months. The tuition fee will cover 600 clock hours of instruction and includes the cost of textbooks. Pens, pencils, notebooks, paper, and note pads are not included in the tuition fee. The $150 registration fee is refundable if requested by the student in writing at least three days prior to the commencement of classes. The 600-hour instructor-training course may be reduced in time depending on the applicant’s documented work experience. Work experience from six months to three years will be taken into account in determining reduction of hours required. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY Any applicant not accepted by Merrell University will be entitled to a refund of all monies paid. If a student (or in the case of a student under legal age, his/her parent or guardian) cancels his/her enrollment and requests his/her money back, in writing, within three business days of the signing of the enrollment agreement or contract, all monies collected by the school will be refunded. The cancellation date will be determined by the postmark of written notification or delivery date for notification personally delivered to the University Administrator/Owner. Prior to entering classes, if a student cancels his/her enrollment agreement after three business days following the signing of the enrollment agreement/contract he/she will be entitled to a refund of all monies paid to the University, less the $150 registration fee. For any student attending the school for the first time, and using any Title IV program and whose withdrawal date is on or before the 50% point in time of the enrollment period, the institution will apply the statutory pro-rata refund policy. Pro-rata refund means a refund by the school of not less than that portion of the tuition, equal to the portion of the period of enrollment for which the student has been charged that remains on the withdrawal date, rounded downward to the nearest ten percent for that period, less any unpaid amount of the scheduled cash payment for the period of enrollment for which the student has been charged. An administration fee, not to exceed $150 or 5% of the total institutional charge, whichever is less, will be excluded from the refund calculation. For students not using any Title IV program, or not a first-time student at the school, or beyond the 50% point in time of the enrollment period, the following schedule of tuition adjustment is authorized. Any monies due the student will be refunded within 30 days from formal termination by the University, which will occur no more than 30 days from the last day of physical attendance or in the case of leave of absence, the documented date of return. A termination fee of $150.00 will be assessed. Allocation of refunds: 1. To eliminate outstanding balances of Federal Stafford Loans; 2. To eliminate any outstanding balances of Federal Plus Loans; 3. To eliminate any amount of Federal Pell Grants awarded to the student for the period of enrollment for which he/she was charged; and 4. To repay required refunds of other Federal, State private or institutional student financial assistance received by the student. If a course is canceled subsequent to a student’s enrollment, the school will at its option provide a refund of all monies paid or provide completion of the course. If the school is permanently closed after the student’s enrollment, the student will be entitled to a pro-rata refund. In the case of disabling illness, disabling accident, or death, the school will make a settlement, which is reasonable and fair to both. 29
