APPEAL PROCESS<br />
Any student placed on probation has the right to appeal his/her probation charges. Guidelines for<br />
the appeal process will be as follows:<br />
1. The appeal must be in writing, signed by the student, and given to the Director of<br />
Financial Aid.<br />
2. The appeal must be made within five scheduled school days following date of probation.<br />
3. The written appeal must include:<br />
a. Circumstances causing tardiness and absenteeism;<br />
b. Circumstances and scholastic reasons for low grades; and<br />
c. Documentation of corrective measures.<br />
The Director of Financial Aid will review the written appeal document and respond to the<br />
student within ten scheduled school days. Response will be in writing, and it will inform student<br />
whether the appeal has been approved or denied. The Director of Financial Aid may, after a<br />
careful and thorough research of the appeal circumstances along with research of the student’s<br />
history, determine that the student is making satisfactory process towards his/her certificate,<br />
despite the failure to conform within the time frame or minimum grade averages.<br />
RE-ADMISSION POLICY<br />
After waiting a period of 60 scheduled school days, students may apply to be re-admitted to the<br />
institution after being dismissed. Such students will be enrolled on a probationary status with<br />
satisfactory progress considered same as date of leave or termination. With respect to financial<br />
aid, a student must complete a period of two months with at least an 80% average grade for the<br />
period before financial aid award will be made. This procedure applies only to dismissals caused<br />
by lack of satisfactory progress and will never be granted more than one. It does not apply to<br />
voluntary withdrawals. Re-entering students will be charged at the current tuition rates. Amount<br />
paid during their first period of enrollment will be credited to their accounts. If a student reenters<br />
within 12 months of the withdrawal, the registration will be waived.<br />
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS<br />
Esthetics students must complete 1,200 clock hours of training. These hours must also be<br />
completed to sit for the State Board of Cosmetology examination. All esthetics students must<br />
complete the predetermined number of services. Refer to example of student progress report for<br />
minimum number of services required to graduate. Services are performed on clinic clients,<br />
other students, or mannequins. All students must take and pass a school final examination with a<br />
grade of 80% or higher. A diploma is awarded upon completion of the course.<br />
