APPENDIX A: SNAP ETHERNET-BASED BRAIN MEMORY MAP Starting Address Length Type Description FFFF F030 0048 4 UI Brain sends BootP request when turned on. 0 (default) = Only if brain’s IP address is 0.0.0.0. 1 = Whenever brain is turned on. Date and Time Configuration—Read/Write Use this area of the memory map to view or change the date and time on SNAP Ultimate brains or SNAP-ENET-RTC brains, which contain a real-time clock. On other brains you cannot set the data and time; this area will show the elapsed time since the brain was last turned on. Starting Address Length Type Description FFFF F035 0000 17 S-ZT Set date and time. Format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.00 Last valid address for this area: FFFF F035 0023 Status Area Write—Read/Write Although this area is read/write, you would normally write to it. When you write to this area, you must write all four bytes, or you’ll receive an “invalid memory address” error. You can write to this area using either a quadlet or a block write. Starting Address Length Type Description FFFF F038 0000 4 UI Operation code 0x00000001 – Send Powerup Clear 0x00000002 – Reset to defaults as follows: Clears error information in the status area (error code, transaction label, source address, error address). Clears gains and offsets, counters (which are also deactivated), latches, min/max data. Turns off digital outputs. Sets analog outputs to zero scale (0 counts). Requires a Powerup Clear after resetting. 0x00000003 – Stores all configuration data to flash, so it is restored when the brain is turned on. 0x00000004 – Erase configuration from flash 0x00000005 – Reset hardware, which is just like cycling power to the brain. If point configuration information has not been stored to flash, points will be reset to defaults. After a hardware reset, the brain waits for a Powerup Clear. 0x00000006 – Clear digital event configuration. 0x00000007 – Clear alarm configuration. 0x00000008 – Clear PPP configuration. 0x00000009 – Clear email configuration. 0x0000000A – Clear timer configuration. 0x0000000C – Clear data log. 0x87654321 – Boot to loader.
