Analog Point Calculation <strong>and</strong> Set—Read Only<br />

When you read data in this area, the data is returned <strong>and</strong> set.<br />

CAUTION: Reading any portion of a quadlet (for example, the first byte of a four-byte quadlet)<br />

sets the offset or gain but returns only the one-byte value requested, which is incomplete.<br />

Offset assumes that zero-scale counts are on the input. Gain assumes that full-scale counts are<br />

on the input. Offset <strong>and</strong> gain are typically used for calibration, <strong>and</strong> offset should be done before<br />

gain.<br />

Only the first four points are shown. Each successive point starts on an even 4 hex boundary <strong>and</strong><br />

follows the same pattern.<br />
