The <strong>documents</strong> that will be used to inform the planning review chapter are listed in Sections 3.4.1 to 3.4.3 below. 3.4.1 National Planning Policy The Scottish Government’s planning policies are set out in the National Planning Framework for Scotland 2 (NPF2), Scottish Planning Policy (SPP), Policy Statements, Planning Advice Notes (PANs) and Circulars. 3.4.1.1 National Planning Framework for Scotland 2 Dawn Developments Ltd/467374673/Queen’s Quay Masterplan EIA/KD 04/01/2012 Major Mixed Use Development, Queen's Quay, Clydebank EIA Scoping Report The NPF2 was published in June 2009 with the aim of guiding Scotland’s development until 2030 by setting out the Government’s strategic development priorities for achieving sustainable economic growth. The aims of the strategy for Scotland’s spatial development to 2030 are to: • contribute to a wealthier and fairer Scotland by supporting sustainable economic growth and improved competitiveness and connectivity; • promote a greener Scotland by contributing to the achievement of climate change targets and protecting and enhancing the quality of the natural and built environments; • help build safer, stronger and healthier communities, by promoting improved opportunities and a better quality of life; and • contribute to a smarter Scotland by supporting the development of the knowledge economy. NPF2 recognises the Clyde Corridor as a national regeneration priority with the Clyde Waterfront and Clyde Gateway areas highlighted as the main foci for redevelopment in the medium term. 3.4.1.2 Scottish planning policy (2010) The SPP document sets out the Scottish Government’s policy on nationally important land use planning matters. The document comprises: • a statement on the purpose of planning; • core principles for the operation of the planning system and objectives for key parts of the system; • guidance on sustainable development; • a series of concise subject planning policies; and • a statement of the Government’s expected planning outcomes.
