From the father of William Bryan who landed in circa

Baldick and Elizabeth his wife for and consideration of the sum of ten dollars lawful
money of Virginia to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged,
they the said James Bryan, John Bryan, John Dunaway and Lucy his wife, Aquilla
Bryan and James Baldick and Elizabeth his wife have granted bargained and sold and
by the presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Henry Menefee Sr. and William
W. Covington, Trustees for the Baptist Church at Thornton's Gap and their successors
a certain lot of land whereon the meeting house now stands in the County of Culpeper
and bounded as follows: beginning at a hickory and chestnut near the meeting house
and running thence North West __? poles to a chestnut oak on the bank of the river
firth near a large rock in the bank of the river, thence with the meanders of said river to
a Sycamore__? poles thence South West __? poles to the beginning. Containing one
acre be the same more or less with all the appurtenances there unto belonging. To
Have and To Hold the said premises with the appurtenances to the said Henry
Menefee Sr. and William W. Covington, Trustees as aforesaid and their successors to
the only proper use and behoof of the said Baptist Church at Thornton's Gap forever
and the said James Bryan, John Bryan, John Dunaway and Lucy his wife, Aquilla
Bryan and James Baldick and Elizabeth his wife for themselves and their heirs the said
premises and every part thereof against them and their heirs and against all and every
other person or persons whatsoever to the said Henry Menefee Sr. and William W.
Covington, Trustees as aforesaid and their successors shall and will warrant and
forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof they have hereunto set their
hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written."

William married Letty Asher. Letty was born in 1762 in Culpeper County, Virginia and died
in 1819 in Culpeper County, Virginia at age 57.

• Information: Letty (Elizabeth) Asher was the daughter of James Asher of Culpeper
County Virginia who died intestate 1800 - His wife is unknown, but believed to have
been a Smith. James Asher was the youngest and last born child by John Asher and his
wife, Elizabeth Morris - This John Asher died before 1750 in Orange County Virginia.
