A small Japanese Tanto with a solid unsigned<br />

c. 23 cm. long blade with a small grip in black<br />

lacquered wood. The blade is shobu-zukuri with<br />

a clear hamon and a ihory back. The black scabbard<br />

is decorated with flowers in relief and has a<br />

small brass kogai.<br />

A composite Japanese suit of samurai armor with<br />

a good 16th century 30-plate ribbed helmet with<br />

later shikoro in ribbed black lacquered iron held<br />

by black lace. The Sode of 6 lames are small with<br />

the lower lame in gold painted iron. The breastplate<br />

with horizontal ribs has two lames strapped<br />

to the top allowing for greater mobility and the<br />

Kusazuri is rather small. The Kote combines chain<br />

mail with square plates on the shoulder and long<br />

lames by the forearm. Together with the suit is<br />

a Haidate with golden lames on brocade. The<br />

pressed Mempo is black with four lames held by<br />

white and yellow lace. Most of the suit is laced<br />

with rather fragile green lace. Together with the<br />

suit is a brown carrying box.<br />
