measure the same speed <strong>of</strong> light independent <strong>of</strong> rectilinear motion with constant<br />

speed. This is a very strong requirement since observations in general<br />

depends on the motion <strong>of</strong> the observer: If you st<strong>and</strong> still or move about in<br />

your car your perceptions differ. To a naive physicist, like myself <strong>and</strong> maybe<br />

the reader, Einstein’s postulate appears unnatural, <strong>and</strong> yes indeed, it also<br />

leads to very strange conceptions <strong>of</strong> space <strong>and</strong> time.<br />

52.3 Cunnigham: Many-Minds <strong>Physics</strong><br />

Ebenezer Cunningham (1881-1977) was a British mathematician who is remembered<br />

for his research <strong>and</strong> exposition at the dawn <strong>of</strong> special relativity.<br />

We shall see that Cunningham opened a door to circumvent the obstacles<br />

<strong>of</strong> both relativity <strong>and</strong> quantum mechanics, into what we describe as manyminds<br />

relativity <strong>and</strong> many-minds quantum mechanics <strong>and</strong> develop in the<br />
