In keeping with the theme, there is a second centre
of the Long Night of the Museums in the historic
centre of Berlin, at Schlossplatz. Three large, recently
opened exhibitions on the city jubilee will be
open to visitors. »Stadt der Vielfalt« (City of Diversity)
is at Schlossplatz, »Spuren des Mittelalters« (Traces
of the Middle Ages) on Mühlendamm and »Die
Stadtjubiläen« (The City Jubilees) in front of the Marienkirche;
all are accessible by foot from the
Schlossplatz.

Culinary Journey around the World
For eight hundred years people from all over the
world have been giving the city impetus for change.
With the jubilee theme »City of Diversity« the
Long Night of the Museums is bringing together
people from all over: from 4 pm the Lustgarten will
be the location of a colourful picnic. There will be
pots, pans and bowls of delicacies from around
the world for visitors to try. Gourmets with a taste
for fresh air need only bring a picnic mat to make
themselves comfortable for a culinary journey
through Berlin and the whole world.
theatre Anu: Auf der reise (travelling)
Theatre Anu tells short poetic stories evoking powerful
images. The characters in this production are
on the great journey of life and report back full of
hope, despite their weariness, on their search for
meaning and happiness. The theatre installation is
open from 9 pm until midnight.
rickshaws
There is a very special offer for Long Night visitors
on Unter den Linden: if you show your ticket you
can get a free bicycle rickshaw ride from one museum
to the next. Right up until midnight the rickshaw
route will connect the Marienkirche with the Forum
Willy Brandt, and all the venues in-between: DDR
Museum, Berliner Dom, Altes Museum, Humboldt-
Box, Bertelsmann, Deutsches Historisches Museum,
Deutsche Guggenheim and Automobil Forum.
