temporary exhibition
Homme de lettres: King Frederick at His Desk
The exhibition covers the broad spectrum and
influence of Frederick the Great’s literary work. At
the centre of the exhibition are the questions: how
did he rule the country from his royal chambers?
What was the intellectual environment in which
Frederick’s historical and political work was
carried out? Under what dynastic and intellectual
conditions did Frederick engage in correspondences?
Further stations of the exhibition
deal with Frederick as a musician and compose, the
king’s confidantes, Frederick’s use of his hands and
his written work in film. .
