centre.<br />

Principally focusing on mo<strong>der</strong>n and contemporary<br />

art, the Deutsche Guggenheim hosts four major international<br />

exhibitions each year; among them are<br />

Deutsche Bank’s »Artist of the Year« and pieces commissioned<br />

specially according to the gallery space.<br />

Gabriel Orozco: Asterisms<br />

The Mexican Gabriel Orozco is one of the most<br />

famous conceptual artists of his generation. For<br />

his commission work for the Deutsche Guggenheim<br />

he has created connected sculptural and<br />

photographic installations out of rubbish. The<br />

material originated in part from the biosphere<br />

and animal conservation area Isla Arena in Baja<br />

California Sur.<br />
