De Olympiska reglerna föreskriver att arrangörer
för Olympiska Spel skall avlämna en officiell rapport
om de avslutade tävlingarna.
Organisationskommittén för XVI Olympiadens Ryttartävlingar
i Stockholm 1956 har uppdragit åt Svenska
Ridsportens Centralförbund att färdigställa och
utgiva denna rapport. På grund av olika omständigheter
har rapporten tyvärr blivit avsevärt försenad.
Den del av den nu föreliggande boken som behandlar
förberedelsearbetet har starkt begränsats. I stället
har största delen av utrymmet ägnats åt själva
Spelen. Sålunda har varje deltagande ryttare och
häst avbildats åtminstone en gång. Denna disposition
har gjorts i förhoppning att boken skall ge läsaren
en återblick i ord och bild
av Ryttarolympiaden i
Stockholm 1956.
In accordance with the Olympic Rules the organizers of
the Olympic Games shall submit an official report after
the Games have been concluded.
The Organizing Committee of the Equestrian Games of
the XVIth Olympiad in Stockholm 1956 has entrusted
the Swedish Equestrian Federation with the task of completing
and issuing such a report.
Due to various circumstances, the issuing of the report
unfortunately has been considerably delayed.
The part of the present book, dealing with the preparatory
work of the Games, has been limited considerably.
Instead most of the space has been devoted to the various
phases of the Games. So every participating rider
and horse appear in the illustrations at least once. The
book has been arranged in this way in the hope that the
reader will be given
a retrospective survey
in text and pictures of
the Equestrian Games of the
XVIth Olympiad in Stockholm 1956.
