THE DRESSAGE TEST OF THE
THREE-DAY EVENT
The Equestrian Games of the XVIth Olympiad
commence on Monday the 11th of
June.
The two first days of the Games are devoted
to the Dressage test of the Three-Day Event.
The competition takes place in the Olympic
Stadium.
The starting order between the national
teams has previously been decided by lots.
The starting order amongst the members of
a national team has been fixed by each
team leader on the day before the Three-
Day Event begins. All those riders numbered
1 start first, followed by those numbered 2
and 3 and so on. This starting order is kept
throughout the whole competition.
There are 57 riders and horses entered for
the Three-Day Event. 30 of these will ride
the Dressage test on Monday the 11th June
and the remaining 27 on Tuesday.
Five judges from Italy, Germany, Norway,
Switzerland, and Finland will judge the
Dressage performances.
The weather is beautiful for the first two
days of the Equestrian Games and a large
public from all corners of the world follows
the competitions with keen interest.
