Running the SMP Source Agent on the source server manually To run the SMP Source Agent manually: 1. Access the SMP Source Agent in the following folder on the application station: \Agents\SMP\ hpsmpagent.exe 2. Copy this file to the source server, and then run the file. 3. To launch the SMP Source Agent, click Install. When the SMP Source Agent is ready for migration on the source machine, the following screen appears. 4. Record the IP addresses listed for the source server entry when using SMP Universal. After completing a migration, the SMP Source Agent no longer runs on the source server. After the application station is connected to the SMP Universal Agent on these servers, the agent is locked to the application station. To unlock the connection between the application station and the source server, access the agent console on source server, click Abort and Exit. To stop the source agent, on the source page, click Abort and Exit. Installing the SMP VM Host Agent on a virtual machine host manually To perform P2V and V2V migrations on a non-embedded virtual machine host with COS, use the SMP VM Host Agent. The agent is installed on the virtual machine host and runs as a service. After the agent is installed, you can use it to perform multiple migrations on the host.
