Hydrospire-bearing, stemmed echinoderms; calyx<br />

generally composed <strong>of</strong> 18 to 21 plates, three basals,<br />

surmounted by five radials, above which and alternating<br />

with them are five deltoids; in addition five<br />

lancets occur in radial position located within the<br />

radial sinuses; the anal side may comprise one, two,<br />

three, or four anal deltoids; hydrospires external or<br />

internal; pores and spiracles present mainly in forms<br />

with internal hydrospires. Silurian-Permian. North<br />

America, Europe, Asia, Timor, Australia, N. Africa,<br />

S. America.
