<strong>Program</strong> Outcomes<br />
Upon completion <strong>of</strong> the program, graduates will be prepared for entry-level competence in<br />
general practice in current and emerging practice settings through a combination <strong>of</strong> academic<br />
and fieldwork education.<br />
Graduates will be prepared to:<br />
Outcome 1:<br />
Apply knowledge <strong>of</strong> the basic sciences to support the foundation and tenets <strong>of</strong> occupational<br />
therapy practice.<br />
Outcome 2:<br />
Apply knowledge <strong>of</strong> the occupational therapy process to achieving occupation related<br />
outcomes.<br />
Outcome 3:<br />
Apply knowledge <strong>of</strong> the unique diversity <strong>of</strong> the human experience to occupational therapy<br />
practice.<br />
Outcome 4:<br />
Demonstrate an appreciation for the influence <strong>of</strong> socioeconomic conditions and the ethical context on<br />
an individual’s right to engage in occupation.<br />
Outcome 5:<br />
Demonstrate an understanding <strong>of</strong> the theoretical base <strong>of</strong> occupational therapy as a foundation<br />
for critical reasoning in practice.<br />
Outcome 6:<br />
Demonstrate an appreciation for the impact <strong>of</strong> theoretical perspectives on clinical practice in<br />
occupational therapy as a foundation for achieving occupation related outcomes.<br />
Outcome 7:<br />
Demonstrate knowledge <strong>of</strong> the influence <strong>of</strong> socioeconomic issues on global health and welfare needs <strong>of</strong><br />
society.<br />
Outcome 8:<br />
Apply knowledge <strong>of</strong> the roles and responsibilities <strong>of</strong> the occupational therapist and<br />
occupational therapy assistant supervisory process to achieving occupation related outcomes.<br />
Outcome 9:<br />
Implement procedural skills to support occupational performance across the lifespan.<br />
Outcome 10:<br />
Uphold the ethical standards values and attitudes <strong>of</strong> the occupational therapy pr<strong>of</strong>ession.
