Discussion This report provides details of all funds that the Council has invested under Section 625 of the Local Government Act, for the periods of November 2010, December 2010 & January 2011. All investments were made in accordance with the Act, Regulations and Council's Investment Policy. Developments • Staff continue to monitor opportunities to switch to allowable alternate investments with a greater forecast investment return to maturity. • Council continues to follow a strategy of investing maturing & surplus funds into Term Deposit products. • Council's total investment portfolio performance: November 2010 - performed 0.12% above the benchmark (4.96% against 4.84%) December 2010 - performed 0.35% above the benchmark (5.35% against 5.00%) January 2011 - performed 0.44% above the benchmark (5.58% against 5.14%) • Accrued investment income: November 2010 - 70.59% above the year to date budget December 2010 - 85.27% above the year to date budget January 2011 - 100.34 above the year to date budget PAGE 50
