Time Involved<br />

The course is a one-year part-time evening course running over the academic year<br />

(approximately 28 weeks).<br />

Classes are held on two / three evenings per week from 6.00 p.m. – 10.00 p.m. and<br />

one Saturday per month (6 –7 hours).<br />

Private (home) study is an integral and important part of the course, and students<br />

have the opportunity to attend some undergraduate lectures on campus (by<br />

arrangement).<br />

Costs<br />

Course costs for those selected are borne by the <strong>University</strong>, contingent on funding.<br />

Entry Requirements and Application<br />

There are no specific entry requirements, such as Leaving Certificate or Aptitude<br />

tests, but typically candidates will have a keen interest in reading and learning in<br />

general, and will aspire to continue their education to degree level and/or beyond.<br />

Applicants must be 22 years of age or over on 1st<br />

January of year of application.<br />

Applicants complete an application form, forward a<br />

questionnaire to two referees, attend an interview<br />

and write a short piece (on day of interview).<br />

*An additional option of Home Economics is available at this<br />

college for entry to B.Ed: Home Economics at the college.<br />
