About the Course<br />
This is a one-year course for adult learners who wish to return to<br />
study after a significant period of time outside the educational<br />
system.<br />
It is also designed for people seeking a change in direction in<br />
terms of employment or study.<br />
The course aims to build adult learner’s self confidence, study skills and knowledge<br />
to enable them to go onto certificate, diploma, and degree level courses at Third<br />
Level, however they are not guaranteed a place and must apply through normal CAO<br />
procedures<br />
ACCESS/FOUNDATION COURSES<br />
Subject<br />
All students study the following core subjects:<br />
Communications<br />
Information Technology<br />
Study Skills and<br />
Personal Development.<br />
In addition students choose one of the following specialised subject areas: Business<br />
and Humanities, Science and Technology or Art.<br />
