Level IV Lesson 4<br />
Group Activity<br />
Make hand shadow pictures and tell a story.<br />
Divide the class into groups <strong>of</strong> five each. Let them discuss and decide upon a story. The<br />
students have to perform the story. Use hand shadows for the characters <strong>of</strong> the story.<br />
For making hand shadows you need:<br />
1. A screen <strong>of</strong> white cloth, about 1 meter square, fastened to the wall and pulled tight so<br />
that there are no creases. A large sheet <strong>of</strong> white paper will also work.<br />
2. A torch for casting shadows.<br />
Ask your partner to keep the torch on a level with hands making the shadow. Stand to one<br />
side <strong>of</strong> the screen so that your body does not get in the audience’s way. Remember that<br />
all other lights should be <strong>of</strong>f.<br />
