Web Design & Interactive Media 12-quarter*<br />
bachelor’s degree program offers a user-centered<br />
design program in which competencies are focused<br />
on creative and innovative technology solutions<br />
across various media platforms. From interfaces for<br />
wireless devices and e-learning solutions to highend<br />
dynamic Web sites and rich media experiences,<br />
students will have the opportunity to discover and<br />
embrace trends in the ever-evolving field of Web<br />
Design & Interactive Media.<br />
<strong>The</strong> program is designed to provide a comprehensive<br />
foundation of design skills with an emphasis on<br />
dynamic interactivity. <strong>The</strong> program is also designed<br />
to provide a comprehensive design foundation<br />
focused on a broad range of design skills combined<br />
with business strategies and creative interactive<br />
technology solutions. <strong>The</strong> competencies include skills<br />
in user interface design, interaction design, visual<br />
design, rich media design, web site design, dynamic<br />
content design, and information design. Web Design<br />
& Interactive Media prepares graduates for entrylevel<br />
positions leading to careers such as interactive<br />
designer, experience designer, web designer, rich<br />
media producer, project coordinator, and interactive<br />
content developer.<br />
Objectives - upon completion of this program,<br />
graduates will be able to:<br />
• demonstrate professional visual communication<br />
skills through the use of graphic illustrations,<br />
photography and typography.<br />
• integrate composition and design in support<br />
of concept.<br />
• demonstrate the ability to program and code to<br />
functional requirements of media project(s).<br />
• demonstrate the ability to apply basic research<br />
methods in interactive media, including research<br />
design, data analysis, and interpretation.<br />
• apply critical thinking and needs analysis to concept<br />
design and in developing media marketing and<br />
business plans.<br />
• apply presentation and communication skills to<br />
produce design and business solutions appropriate<br />
to a particular client or target audience.<br />
