Power Engineering Class I+II (T1+T2) Combined Arresters For a supply from below, the labels can be reversed and the front plate can be turned through 180°. On demand, a second, self-adhesive front plate can be delivered as a replacement, free of charge. Combined modular arresters of the series BC offer a higher insulation level due to their low voltage protection level of less than 2.5 kV at full discharge current and less than 2 kV at 5 kA respectively. They are able to divert high lightning impulse currents and operate also at small, transient surges under different ambient conditions, reliably and without any problems. Due to the application of the gas discharge technology the PowerPro BC SPDs are resistant against temporary and long lasting overvoltages (TOV) up to 500 V (50 Hz). The rare-gas-filled combined modular arresters of the series PowerPro BC significantly reduce possible follow-on shortcircuit currents due to an extremely quick quenching after equipotential bonding and due to their integrated extinction chamber. Therefore, upstream positioned surge-current protection devices are not triggered. The installation place of the PowerPro BC is the main distribution board upstream or downstream of the power meter. According to the lightning protection zones concept in IEC DIN EN 62305 part 1-4 (VDE 0185-305-1-4), it can universally be installed at the transition 0 A to 2. Downstream equipment should additionally be protected by Leutron class III or class II+III SPDs. They are coordinated with the PowerPro BCD in a way that they can be installed without the need of a minimum distance.
