Power Engineering Class II (T2) Surge Arresters, pluggable EnerPro C S, TN-C, TN-S and TT Systems • Multi-pole complete unit consisting of basic module and pluggable protective modules • Possible to coordinate with upstream installed Leutron lightning current arresters of classes I, I+II and I+II+III • With multi-function terminals for connecting • High discharge capacity due to powerful varistors • Optional remote signalling contact (FM), pre-wired in housing, requiring no additional space • Function indicator display via red/green indication in the vision panel The pluggable, multi-pole complete units are available for TN-C, TN-S, TN-C-S, TT systems and ac systems according to IEC (EN, VDE, OEVE, etc.) standards. They are shipped readyto-connect. Single-pole and multi-pole surge arrester for the protection of low-voltage consumers’ installations in industry, business and residential areas against transient surges. The arresters can be installed at the transition 0 B to 1 and higher, according to the lightning protection zones concept. They can be combined with upstream installed arresters of the series PowerPro and IsoPro. They consist of a multi-pole receptacle (basic module) and coded, pluggable surge-protection modules. The grounding bar, respectively the connection to the neutral conductor (N) in models for TT systems, is already implemented in the receptacle together with the terminals of the remote contact. The protective circuit per pole with its safety thermal disconnection mechanism is contained in a narrow (1 module width) plug-in module with an optical function control display. The pluggable protection modules of the series EP CS are equipped with an optical function control displays. The optional remote alarm contact (FM) which consists of a microswitch (changeover contact) is placed in a practical, multi-pole compact receptacle (basic module) which can be placed on a 35 mm DIN rail (form C). The electrical connection is achieved via screw-type terminals that are connected to a terminal fixing of the SPD. At the version for TT systems the receptacle will be inserted between L and N. An N-PE spark-gap module is plugged in between N and PE. The amply dimensioned terminals of the receptacle allow for a connection to circular conductors as well as busbar connectors or flat conductors. The EP C S units are also available with a rated voltage of 350 V ac for a higher TOV resistance. The varistors of the plug-in modules that are connected to the active conductor possess thermal disconnection devices, which respond if due to an overload the leakage current wich flows through the metal oxide varistor exceeds a certain value. In this case the LED display changes from GREEN to RED and the optional remote contact (changeover contact) switches. In this case, the plug-in modules have to be replaced immediately. As a spare part, a leakage current-free protection module of the series EP CS …A of the same rated voltage can be plugged into the receptacle of the series EP CS …(T) at a later point in time.
