Class I+II (T1+T2) Combined Arresters
surges under different ambient conditions without any additional
trigger – reliably and without any problems.
The SPDs are leakage-current free and protect the earthing
system against dangerous ac-caused corrosion.
Due to their good insulation against earth of 10 GΩ and the
fact that no leakage-current affected varistors (MOV) are
connected in parallel, they even can be placed upstream
of the meter according to the specifications of the German
VDN (TAB 2007).
The modular designed, multi-pole complete units are available
for TN, TN-C, TN-S, TN-C-S, and TT systems according to
IEC (EN, VDE, OEVE, etc.) standards. They are shipped readyto-connect
(on rail).
Leutron also offers a special version with a higher operating
voltage. The units can universally be installed at all export
countries with nominal system voltages of 200 to 260 V.
The TT system version discharges the impulse current between
L and N. Between N and PE a Leutron summation current
spark gap SumPro with 100 kA (10/350µs) will be applied
which corresponds to the highest lightning protection class
I according to VDE 0185-305 (IEC DIN EN 62305).
The pre-assembled, two-pole busbars at the terminals allow
a serial V-wiring of the SPD to a back-up fuse up to 125 A.
In the case of single-pole units the individual SPD modules
can optionally be delivered with integrated, non-resetable
thermal sensors (/FM) or (/Pk).
At an overload of the SPD the sensors open a hermeticallysealed,
potential-free remote contact permanently.
The sensors are already triggered before a possible damage
of the SPD module, which then has to be replaced for security
reasons.
The remote contacts have to be included in the order of the
SPD. Retrofitting is not possible.
The remote signalling contact (FM or Pk) is connected via a
twisted-pair cable to an integrated plug-type terminal block
of the SPD.
The latching hooks per pole on both sides of the SPD allow
for an installation on a 35 mm DIN rail, even under difficult
mounting conditions inside the distributor.
For a supply from below, the labels can be reversed and the
front plate can be turned through 180°. On demand, a second,
self-adhesive front plate can be delivered as a replacement,
free of charge.
