ZULU 1110 Elementary Zulu I 2CP 4 0 Culture based approach to increased language proficiency. Students continue<br />

to develop listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills as they study diverse<br />

history and customs of Zulu speakers.<br />

ZULU 1120 Elementary Zulu II 2CP 4 0 Culture based approach to increased language proficiency. Students continue<br />

to develop listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills as they study diverse<br />

history and customs of Zulu speakers.<br />

ZULU 2110 Intermediate Zulu I 2CP 4 0 Culture based approach to increased language proficiency. Students continue<br />

to develop listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills as they study diverse<br />

history and customs of Zulu speakers.<br />

through Gothic. Students advised but not required to enroll in A H 2110 and<br />

AH 2120 History of Art II 2FA 4 0 Survey of Western painting, sculpture, and architecture from Renaissance<br />

through contemporary. Students are advised but not required to enroll in A H<br />

2110 and 2120 in sequence.<br />

ART 1100 Seeing and Knowing the Visual Arts 2FA 3 0 Introduction to perceiving and understanding meanings and organizational<br />

systems in traditional and contemporary visual arts in context of their social<br />

and cultural backgrounds.<br />

ART 1600 Aesthetics of Architecture and Design 2FA 3 0 Fundamental issues of aesthetics in architecture, interiors, and design.<br />

Emphasis on the study of residential environments including socio-economic<br />

and multi-cultural issues. Topics include aesthetics, design fundamentals,<br />

history of design, and construction methodologies.<br />

DANC 1700 The Dance Experience 2FA 3 0 A comprehensive course to introduce the beginning student to contemporary<br />

and classical dance forms including modern, ballet, and jazz dance styles.<br />

Discussions and readings cover historical and aesthetic perspectives. Live<br />

performances and studio practice contribute to students' experiential learning.<br />

DANC 2700 History, Traditions and Languages of Dance 2FA 3 0 Art of dance from broad point of view, involving dance viewing, literature, and<br />

participation. Deals with aesthetic, physiological, social, and cultural aspects.<br />

DANC 2710 Black Dance Forms 2FA 3 0 Familiarizes students with black dance forms and the contributions that<br />

African Americans have made to the development of dance in America.<br />

Discussions, readings, videotaped material, live performances, and studio<br />

practice contribute to the students' experiential learning.<br />

DANC 3550 Dance Cultures of the World I 2FA 3 0 Introduction to dance cultures of world (excluding Western art dance).<br />

Function of dance in society and its relationship to other arts.<br />
