Course Description<br />
BIOS 4941 Senior Research and Thesis 3 3 0 Independent research and thesis under the supervision of a faculty member.<br />
Requires students already actively involved in a research project to present<br />
their research findings, both orally and in written thesis format. It is intended<br />
for students who are not pursuing a degree in Biological Sciences with honors.<br />
Students should enroll in the semester the research will be completed and<br />
thesis presented.<br />
BIOS 4941H Senior Honors Thesis 3 2 to 6 0 Independent departmental honors research thesis under supervision of staff<br />
member. Student should enroll semester he or she expects to complete<br />
thesis. Registration with director of departmental honors program is required.<br />
CE 4910 Senior Design- Land Development 3 3 0 An advanced applied engineering course utilizing multiple fundamental civil<br />
engineering courses as applied to land development.<br />
CE 4911 Senior Design--Environmental/Water Resources 3 3 0 An advanced applied engineering course utilizing combinations of<br />
water/wastewater treatment and hydraulics/hydrology courses as applied to<br />
society's needs.<br />
CE 4912 Senior Design--Structures and Foundations 3 3 0 A civil engineering design elective integrating fundamental civil engineering<br />
courses for foundation and structural design, analysis, and drawing.<br />
CFS 4602 Professional Assessment and Helping Skills 3 3 0 This is the child and family studies capstone course in the assessment of<br />
children, individuals, couples and families, and the acquisition of helping skills<br />
needed to facilitate these processes; all necessary in preparing students for<br />
their final internship experience. It is designed to help students acquire<br />
practical helping skills, techniques, and theoretical foundations that define and<br />
support assessment and effective helping relationships for human services<br />
professionals working in a wide range of settings. Highly experiential in nature<br />
and includes multiple opportunities for practice, demonstration, and discussion<br />
of methods and techniques drawn from the text, lectures, and supplemental<br />
materials. It also includes an introduction to group process. Specific emphasis<br />
is placed on integrating previous and concurrent course content and<br />
experiences, and bringing an enhanced level of skill to the helping<br />
relationship. Additional considerations include an emphasis on a student's<br />
personal beliefs, values, and spirituality and their impact on the helping<br />
process and developing an awareness of multicultural issues and other<br />
significant topics that impact the helping relationship, such as ethics, gender,<br />
race, religion, disability, ageism, and sexual orientation.<br />
CHE 4310 Chemical Engineering Process Design II 3 3 0 Continuation of 4300. Preliminary design of a chemical process. Process<br />
synthesis, computer flowsheeting, layout, safety, and economics. Also<br />
involves the assessment of skills from explicit and implicit prerequisite<br />
courses.<br />
