general need for more training, and approximately 22% suggested that t<strong>here</strong> was a lack of<br />
commitment. Nearly 17% suggested that no training needs remained.<br />
Computer Skills<br />
Nearly 37% of <strong>the</strong> responses listed under o<strong>the</strong>r training needs indicated a need for more<br />
computer skills. These respondents expressed an interest in having some computer<br />
classes offered in order <strong>to</strong> better train <strong>the</strong>m. Responses stated such things as, “More<br />
computer use skills - access, excel, power point, etc.,” and, “CD’s and CAD programs<br />
cover all of this except for PM-D.”<br />
Training and Fur<strong>the</strong>r Education<br />
Approximately 32% of <strong>the</strong> responses suggested that t<strong>here</strong> were training needs <strong>to</strong> be<br />
fulfilled. This category includes responses that stated concerns about in what areas <strong>the</strong>y<br />
are trained and <strong>the</strong> amount of time for which <strong>the</strong>y are trained. Respondents stated such<br />
things as <strong>the</strong>y needed more extensive “educating and job training” and that “<strong>the</strong>se all<br />
need <strong>to</strong> be continuously maintained or <strong>the</strong>y can never be fulfilled.” One respondent<br />
stated that his or her “supervisor needs training.” Also included in this category is one<br />
respondent who stated, “MBA.”<br />
Commitment <strong>to</strong> Program<br />
This category includes responses that expressed a lack of commitment <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Performance<br />
Management Plan and accounts for about 32% of all responses given for this section of<br />
<strong>the</strong> question. Respondents discussed supervisor and coworker concerns and questioned<br />
<strong>the</strong> program’s purpose. For example, one respondent stated, “How <strong>to</strong> deal with people<br />
that do not care. Office personnel,” and ano<strong>the</strong>r stated, “We have no meetings!” Yet<br />
ano<strong>the</strong>r respondent stated that he or she has “not met supervisor <strong>to</strong> discuss anything.”<br />
One respondent said that he or she did not know <strong>the</strong> purpose of <strong>the</strong> process.<br />
None<br />
Three respondents who responded with o<strong>the</strong>r suggestions for training needs suggested<br />
that t<strong>here</strong> were none. Two of <strong>the</strong>ir responses were, “None,” and one was “N/A.”<br />
