ACTION ITEMS<br />

Minutes. The minutes for the October 12, 2012 meeting were moved by Audrey Matsumonji<br />

and seconded by Mike Haglund. They were formally approved by acclamation.<br />

Stable Court Funding Resolution. Maureen O’Connor moved and Mike Haglund seconded the<br />

motion to forward an updated version of the stable court funding resolution to the board for<br />

approval. The motion was adopted unanimously.<br />

INFORMATION ITEMS<br />

Election Results. The committee reviewed what the election results mean in <strong>Oregon</strong>: both<br />

chambers are now controlled by Democrats with a Democratic governor. The Senate is 16 -14<br />

with Senator Peter Courtney continuing as Senate President. The House went from a 30-30<br />

split house to a 34 – 26 margin with a net gain of four seats and Representative Tina Kotek is<br />

speaker with Representative Garrett as speaker pro tem. We will have 14 legally trained<br />

legislators in <strong>2013</strong>.<br />

Court Funding Coalition update. The OSB will be coordinate with the Multnomah <strong>Bar</strong><br />

Association and others to develop a strategy on court funding for the <strong>2013</strong> session. More to<br />

follow.<br />

Public Affairs Overview and Timeline. The committee reviewed the timeline, process and<br />

procedures for OSB and bar group involvement in the legislative process.
