I have experienced this in my own development and
whenever I have helped people in their professional
and private lives as a manager, mentor, coach and
friend, I have told them this.
I’m no psychiatrist, so I only work with healthy
people in the sense of supporting them (not in the
sense of healing them) so that they may make easier,
faster, and better progress. It is always important in
these situations to “bring all of your horsepower to
the street.”
For me it’s not about the question of how I will make
my client healthy, that is for a psychologist to
answer. For me it’s about helping my client to focus
their attention and energy on how they can use their
talents in the best, fastest, and least risk manner (the
economic principle of as little as possible, but as
much as is needed) in the pursuit of reaching a goal.
It is always fun for me to help others reach success
and to make other people successful. In my job
description I often say that I am like a taxi driver,
who helps people get to where they want to go.
