2.3. SEMI-STRUCTURED INTERVIEWS<br />

PARTICIPANTS<br />

wenty service users participated in semi-structured interviews. Interviewees<br />

came from the same population as participants in exploration of effectiveness<br />

study (see 2.2), but had not necessarily taken part in the exploration of effectiveness<br />

study.<br />

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT<br />

he research instrument consisted open questions related to four thematic<br />

areas: coping, experience with the group, identity (victim/survivor), and the<br />

future. Questions were open and researchers asked additional explorative questions or<br />

gave explanations where this deemed appropriate (Appendix 5).<br />

PROCEDURE<br />

he semi-structured interviews were carried out in the groups’ drop-in-centres<br />

to provide a safe and comfortable environment for participant. Before starting<br />

the interview, participants were asked to read the participant information sheet and<br />

sign the consent sheet (Appendix 2). Interviews lasted an average of 30 minutes
